Working Through Chaos

 25/08/23  |   Kavya Babu

How important is it to have well-rounded communication between the client and the organizer in a program, especially when multiple vendors/parties are involved? How often is there an assumption that all the parties are aware of the roles each other plays?

People often commit to something super quickly without having it thought out. They may feel obligated to say yes and are incapable of following through making it easier for them to ignore and ghost rather than showing up and facing the challenge.

Is Staying Aloof the Best Coping Mechanism for Gen Z?

 April 2023  |   Kavya Babu

A single step in the line of descent from an ancestor lasting 15 to 20 years, is what designated generations earlier. The generations now are exposed to key events, ideas, and technologies at a frequency never previously experienced, thanks to smartphones and never-ending news streams. There is access to information, people, opportunities, capital, tools, etc in abundance. As a result, Gen Z is drastically different from earlier generations. These elements may contribute to feelings of anxiety or stress, which may prompt some people to isolate themselves or become emotionally detached as a way to protect themselves emotionally. Having said that, it's critical to understand that withdrawing from or remaining far from others is not always a beneficial coping strategy.

Pursuit of Creativity

 17 Jun 2022  |   Dexy Samuel

Most often the term Creativity is associated exclusively with the people pursuing alternative professions and hobbies. From this preconception, the question arises if creativity then holds good in the general/traditional workspaces and can employees benefit from being creative?

The Power of Power

 10 Jun 2022  |   Jahnavi Gurjer

Power is a fascinating social process and conflict is a ubiquitous aspect of group dynamics. “Power is my mistress,” said Napoleon Bonaparte in 1802, “I have worked too hard at her conquest to allow anyone to take her away from me.” Even today, nothing has changed. The power struggles appear unending in almost every form of organization, irrespective of the size or nature of the business.

The Real Trust Barriers in Virtual Working

 20 May 2022  |   Marlyn Bedi

Trust is an abstract space of vulnerability.  It remains one of the strongest driving forces and emotional connections for people to feel secure and attached in their workplaces. Nevertheless, trust is not pre-defined in industry jargon and therefore remains a marginalised virtue taking a backseat in the list of priorities for most organisations.

What’s your game plan?

 13 Oct 2020  |   Alysha Punja

Has everybody logged in? Am I audible? Your voice is breaking. Please switch on your video! Phrases that have become all too familiar as we adapt to long-term work from home conditions. The virtual meeting has now become non-negotiable. Lack of stable internet connectivity is no longer an acceptable reason to not log on to a virtual meeting and attendance is mandatory. Eight months into this pandemic and it would seem that teams are no longer sure as to whether this technology is a blessing or a curse. Are people still eager to connect and collaborate virtually? Or has Zoom fatigue set in?

Why is staying connected imperative during this pandemic?

 21 Sept 2020  |   Anushka Kukreja

We’re aware of how this global pandemic has had various restrictions on us, especially if we compare it to ‘pre-corona’ times. With the initial lockdowns, most of us were trapped in and were forced to live a hermit-like lifestyle. For some, it was bliss; for others torture, but due to the lack of choice, everyone had to accustom themselves to it. Over the last couple of months, these restrictions have relaxed and many seem to be getting back to their ‘regular’ everyday lifestyles

Take a moonshot

 4 Sep 2020  |   Jahnavi Gurjer

Are you a leader of an organization that wants to thrive in this post-pandemic world? If yes, then you have to turn mid-level managers into purpose-driven leaders. Without an option, you have to shed previously held delusional fantasies about igniting people through training, development, reward and recognition plans, and instead take a moonshot at transformation.

You don't need a reason or season to care

 20 Aug 2020  |   Anushka Kukreja

Is it necessary for you to be a doctor, or working in a charitable NGO to give back to society? Or can people working in their 9 to 5 jobs, in the big, bad corporate world, also do the same? I believe that despite whatever job we do, it is who we are as individuals that dictates the kind of work we do.

 16 Aug 2020  |   Jahnavi Gurjer

We had just relocated into our new office and I had the responsibility of leading the consulting business for our organization, when I heard rumblings about a new coronavirus wreaking havoc in Wuhan, China. I wasn’t aware then that COVID-19 would inflict illness and death in most communities across the world and affect every economy, some much more than others.

Are you ready for a job

 5 Aug 2020  |   Advaith Shah

Out of the 19 years that I have lived, I spent 12 years completing my schooling. In these 12 years, each year consisted of a similar routine — worry about the exam, study for the exam, and write the exam. My world seemingly revolved around the exam. For the longest time, I was under the impression that marks were all I needed. My logic was simple — if I did well in my exam, my teachers would think good of me, and my parents would reward me and allow me to do whatever I pleased. Over the years this ridiculous idea grew until my mind made a simple equation — success = marks.

 29 Jul 2020  |   Alysha Punja

7:00 am. Just another Monday. I wake up to the not so pleasant sound of my alarm (after hitting snooze more than just once). Time to roll out of bed, workout, shower, eat, and head to work. Except wait, this is no longer a regular Monday. While my morning routine is the same, there’s no office to head to for the moment. My morning struggle with Bangalore traffic is now reduced to the few steps between my bed and desk before work begins.
